Results

To say that we’ve been a bit preoccupied is an understatement. We have a lot going on.

I did, however receive my pathology results from the lumpectomy and lymph node removal. The surgeon removed a 12×6 cm area of tissue in addition to 3 lymph nodes. The pathology report indicated that the tumors were a recurrence of the original tumor, but the surgeon got clear margins, removed scar tissue, and lymph nodes were clear. I will be returning to my maintenance treatment schedule with no active chemotherapy needed.

On Wednesday afternoon, I went back to the hospital for a heart echocardiogram which was quite uncomfortable 5 days post surgery. Those results showed my strongest heart function since my baseline echo in 2019 before starting chemotherapy.

I’m not sure how such a broken heart can beat so strongly, but it is true.
